PUBLIC PARTICIPATION ON RATIFICATION OF ILO CONVENTIONS NO.189 AND 190

The State Department for Labour and Skills Development is launching a nationwide public participation exercise on the ratification of ILO Convention No. 189 on Decent Work for Domestic Workers and Convention No. 190 on Eliminating Violence and Harassment in the World of Work. This initiative underscores Kenya’s commitment to enhancing protection for domestic workers and enforcing a zero-tolerance approach to workplace violence and harassment. Members of the public are encouraged to take part in the exercise, beginning with sessions in Kakamega on 17th December, 2025 and Kisumu on 19th December, 2025, with additional counties to follow as we build a more inclusive, dignified and future-aligned labour ecosystem.
